The furnace atomizer is factory-aligned and permanently mounted.

Below right is a schematic design of the Z-2700 optics. With two photomultiplier tubes and fixed magnets, total signal and background only signal can be acquired simultaneously eliminating flicker noise and transient signal errors. This design also eliminates a moving polarizer and magnetic field fluctuations eliminating signal noise.

With its built-in autosampler (below), re-alignment of the furnace and autosampler are eliminated. Access to the cuvette is never impeded by the autosampler location. Software positions the syringe probe over the injection port for alignment. During analysis the diameter of the cuvette is compensated automatically.
